Install Stainless Steel Flexible Hose

Stainless Steel Flexible Hose
The installation of both gas and water supply lines involves the use of Stainless Steel Flexible Hose. A flexible gas hose is usually made of metal, corrugated and has a plastic coating. It connects to the gas shut-off valve on the end of the gas supply pipeline and runs to the inlet on the gas appliance. Flexible water hoses are made of plastic (sometimes with a braided metal covering) and run from the shut-off valve to the water fixture. Finally, garden hoses are also made of plastic, are flexible and are used to water flowers, shrubs and plants.
1 Measure the area to determine the required length of flexible Stainless Steel Braided Hose.
2 Clean the threads on the appliance’s male adapters to remove debris. Wrap a few layers of plumber’s tape around the threads in a counterclockwise direction.
3 Attach the female adapter ends of the flexible hose to the male adapters. Tighten the adapters by hand so that the threads fit snugly without binding.
4 Slip a pipe wrench or adjustable pliers over the female adapter nuts and turn the tool in a clockwise direction to tighten. Remove any kinks in the hose, which could cause blockage or future links, then repeat the tightening process on the opposite end.
5 Turn the appliance on, allowing water to flow through the hose. Inspect the area for any leaks between the female and male adapters.
